Samantha Ronson Arrested for DUI

Samantha Ronson was arrested for driving under the influence at 10:30 a.m. Monday morning, after being pulled over for speeding outside Baker, Calif.

Law enforcement officials tell TMZ that Ronson, the 33-year-old deejay who famously dated Lindsay Lohan from 2008 to 2009, was on her way home from Las Vegas at the time of the arrest and was initially pulled over for driving her black Porsche Targa 89 mph in a 70 mph zone.

"When she was stopped, she showed signs of being impaired," a police spokesperson tells Us Weekly. And when an officer gave her balance tests, "she showed signs of alcohol intoxication."

After declining a non-mandatory roadside breathalyzer test, Ronson was arrested on two misdemeanors of DUI and transported to the San Bernadino Sheriff's office. While there, she tested over the legal 0.8 percent limit for blood-alcohol content, TMZ reports.

Ronson was alone at the time of the arrest and, according to a police source, was "friendly and talkative" and "cooperative throughout the whole ordeal."

Ronson had deejayed at Vegas' Lavo nightclub in the Palazzo on Sunday night and into the wee hours of Monday morning, and had been drinking during that time. "She admitted she had consumed alcohol early (that) morning or late last night, and was on her way home (from Las Vegas)," a police officer tells Us Weekly. "She went to bed and got up this morning and was on her way home."

So that explains the 10:30 a.m. DUI! At least Ronson wasn't washing down her corn flakes with beer instead of milk.

Daniel Roberts vs. T.J. Waldburger added to UFC "Battle on the Bayou" prelims

A welterweight bout between Daniel "Ninja" Roberts and T.J. Waldburger is on its way to the preliminary card of UFC Fight Night 25 "Battle on the Bayou."

The UFC announced the matchup on Friday morning.

Roberts will attempt to halt a two fight losing skid in the Octagon that snapped a three fight winning streak. After a knockout loss in his UFC debut, Roberts went on to defeat Forrest Petz by decision before submitting Mike Guymon and Greg Soto in back to back fights. However, decision losses to Claude Patrick and Rich Attonito in 2011 have him in desperate need of a win.

Waldburger made his UFC debut last September after posting a 12-5 record in various organizations around Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana, and picked up a decision win over David Mitchell to kick off his UFC career. Waldburger was then stopped by strikes in his second fight, losing in the first round to Johny Hendricks at UFC Fight Night 24 in March.

UFC Fight Night 25 takes place from the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, La. on September 17, airing live on Spike TV and headlined by a welterweight bout between Jake Shields and Jake Ellenberger.

Penick's Analysis: Roberts had put together a string of really impressive performances, but against both Patrick and Attonito he was handled fairly easily en route to losing one-sided decisions. He'll need a big turnaround performance to avoid a third straight loss, which would put him at risk of losing his spot on the roster. As for Waldburger, the loss to Hendricks snapped a four fight win streak, so a second straight loss will likely still allow him to stay in the UFC, but he'll absolutely be out to get back into the win column on the undercard of this event.

Valentino Rossi, before thousands of MotoGP supporters and motorcycle journalists from around the world, rode for the first time the Ducati Desmosedici; so get ready for a sensational 2011 MotoGP World Championship. The first day of the long awaited post-season MotoGP motorcycle test at Valencia was delayed by gray skies and light drizzle in the morning.

Valentino Rossi arrived in the Ducati garage (with the blessing of the Fiat Yamaha Team), where Filippo Preziosi, Jeremy Burgess and his crew as well as engineers and motorcycle technicians from Ducati Corse were waiting for him. At 11:46 a.m. the official Ducati test rider Franco Battaini took to the track for a first shakedown on the black "carbon" colored MotoGP Ducati GP11 and finally, at 12:23 p.m., the nine-time World Champion rode the Ducati Desmosedici for the first time. Rossi started out on a Desmosedici GP11 fitted with a "big bang" version of the engine, which he used for virtually the entire day as he worked on geometry and other settings. As the day drew to a close he made one final run on the "screamer" version.

The second and final day of MotoGP testing at Valencia, Rossi worked closely together with Filippo Preziosi on the setting of the GP11 machine with the big bang engine configuration, completing 70 laps. His detailed feedback and the data gathered over the past two days will help the Ducati engineers develop the GP11 and adapt it more to the riding style of the nine-time MotoGP World Champion. Filippo Preziosi (Ducati Corse MotoGP) says: "The objective is clearly to allow Valentino to ride like Valentino Rossi! We know we have to improve the bike in order to achieve this, especially the front end. He has given us some very precise information and now it is down to us to use it." "We would obviously have liked to give him the opportunity to go faster today but even though that wasn't the case he has impressed everybody over the last two days with the way he works, his calm approach and his positive attitude towards everything," he explained about Valentino Rossi.

Kennedy avoids the big shot and gets win over Lawler

Tim Kennedy was open for the upset, but Robbie Lawler never put things together during any of the three rounds. Lawler, a good striker with one-punch knockout power, simply relied too much on throwing single shots and allowed Kennedy to dictate the pace. That won with the judges as Kennedy got a unanimous decision victory, 30-27 on all cards.

Kennedy (14-3) pushed forward the entire fight and took some abuse for doing so. A Lawler uppercut in the second opened a nasty gash.

"He bloodied me up for [charging forward], I'm glad the judges see that this is just blood. I get cut all the time so get over it. It just happens. I'm gonna fight until the end of the fight," Kennedy, an Army Ranger who served multiple tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan. "Robbie Lawler is an amazing athlete and I was humbled to be in the cage with him. The guy hits pretty hard."

Lawler (18-8, 1 NC) does hit like a truck, but attempting 39 strikes in 15 minutes just wasn't going to cut it. Kennedy sealed the win by landing 4-of-12 takedowns. He jumped out to 2-0 lead in the fight by maintaining top control for much of the second round. In all, he landed 40-of-68 shots on the ground.

Kennedy provided a nice moment for war hero Mike Schlitz. The 14-year Army veteran had all of his limbs blown off in combat. Schlitz watched the fight cage side and came into the cage following the fight where he got a standing ovation.

Schlitz helped establish a "GallentFew." It's "a nationwide mentor network that helps our veterans transition from military service to successful civilian careers, assisting veterans with professional, social, emotional and physical needs."

Kennedy's won 6-of-7 fights. The only loss during that run was a title fight against Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza.

ROUNDTABLE: Which UFC fight this fall are you most excited for? Pelkey, Hyden, Hobaugh, Perez, Williams and Penick

With a number of packed events and big fights scheduled for this fall, which fight in particular are you most excited for?

MATT PELKEY, MMATORCH COLUMNIST

There's a slew of fantastic fights this fall. Jon Jones' first title defense against Quinton "Rampage" Jackson at UFC 135�will be must-see viewing. UFC 136 has two title fights at the top (Edgar-Maynard III...finally...hopefully/Aldo-Florian) and is buoyed by a bona fide #1 contender fight (Stann-Sonnen). The co-main event of UFC 137 is a hardcore fan's dream (Penn-Condit). UFC 138 features the first ever UFC five round, non-title main event (ok, so Munoz-Leben doesn't belong in this conversation, but the five round aspect does make it historic) and UFC 139 will be the biggest and best heavyweight fight in UFC history (Velasquez defending the strap for the first time against JDS). But there's really only one answer for me. It can only be Nick Diaz challenging Georges St. Pierre for welterweight supremacy at UFC 137. Diaz has been my favorite fighter since his shocking KO of heavily favored and heavily hyped Robbie Lawler at UFC 47 in a fight that remains one of my five favorites of all time. I realized I'm setting myself up for disappointment in a fight that will likely be the usual 25 minutes of St. Pierre wrestling domination. But I have three more months to enjoy playing it out in my head, figuring out how my favorite fighter can pull off the impossible.

I think I'll have to go with Jose Aldo defending his UFC Featherweight Title against Kenny Florian at UFC 136. I've been a big fan of Florian's for years, and I'm hoping that he comes up large in this fight. I think KenFlo can, and I hope he does. It should be a great fight.

The UFC 135 fight between Rampage Jackson and Jon Jones is the fight I am most looking forward to this fall. I think Jones wins this fight, but Jackson will test the young champion like he has not been tested before. Jackson is a special type of fighter with great wrestling and very high level striking that will give Jones real trouble. Of all the amazing match ups that are coming our way this fall I feel like this one should be among the best.

Hands down the most exciting fight for me is going to be the title fight between Nick Diaz and Georges St. Pierre.� That's a fight that I have been looking forward to since the buyout of Strikeforce by Zuffa, and trust me, with the pedigree of both fighters, it will be the best fight either on the ground or on the feet.� Both Diaz and St. Pierre will certainly bring it.

Georges St. Pierre vs. Nick Diaz.� Diaz is a blast to watch and while I think GSP can likely wrestle him to victory, Diaz will keep him fighting for all 25 minutes.

There are so many incredible fights on the docket this fall that it is definitely hard to pick just one. Each of the major pay-per-view events from UFC 134 to UFC 139 features at least one title fight, and all of them are extremely exciting matchups, but I'm most looking forward to Georges St. Pierre vs. Nick Diaz at UFC 137. I love watching both Diaz and Georges St. Pierre in the cage, and though St. Pierre has had a few fights in a row that have left something to be desired, this is a fight where that is likely to change. One reason St. Pierre has been able to simply impose his will for five rounds against so many fighters is that each has brought an area that they are weakest in, and he's been able to exploit that. With Diaz, he's got an opponent that is fearless on the feet, and more than willing to threaten from his back. This is a fight that is going to bring out the best in the UFC Champ, as Diaz is going to make him work in each area of the fight. Ultimately, that should make for a really exciting title fight.

Luminaries gather to honour Button

Once the intense competition of qualifying was over in Hungary, the Formula 1 fraternity put aside their rivalries for an unusual social occasion.

Luminaries from the top to the bottom of the paddock had crammed into McLaren's buzzing motorhome on Saturday evening to celebrate Jenson Button's 200th Grand Prix.

It was a fascinating scene for the F1 voyeur. Ferrari team boss Stefano Domenicali stood chatting to Mercedes motorsport chief Norbert Haug with a friendly arm around his shoulder. Team Lotus driver Jarno Trulli perched on a stool under the towering presence of Silver Arrows team boss Ross Brawn as Sauber's Sergio Perez mingled with the Virgin Racing drivers.

Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso nearly stole the show when the former McLaren arch-rivals warmly embraced each other, suggesting the particularly bitter cold war between the 2007 team-mates was well and truly thawing.

But the evening had been arranged by McLaren to mark Button's career and each of the 31-year-old's previous team bosses - with the exception of exiled Renault boss Flavio Briatore and BAR-Honda chief Dave Richards - spoke enthusiastically about the Somerset-born racer.

Button's F1 career began in 2000 when he beat Brazilian Bruno Junqueira in a shoot-out for a Williams race seat.

Sir Frank Williams had a unique take on the then 20-year-old, recalling: "In those days he was devastatingly good-looking and was always being pursued.

"He is a top, top guy. I really think that. He knew exactly how to get to the top and was completely unstoppable."

After two seasons with the Benetton team, which was re-branded Renault, Button lost his drive to Alonso and joined BAR, which then morphed into Honda.

The Japanese team helped the Englishman win his first race at the 113th attempt in 2006 in the only wet race - so far - to be held at the Hungaroring.

Shortly afterwards Brawn joined Honda, and under the former Ferrari technical guru Button went on to claim the world title in 2009 with the renamed Brawn Grand Prix team.

Brawn toasted his former charge, saying: "Jenson has got some essential qualities; speed, honesty, integrity and professionalism. Eventually he put all those things together in 2009.

"The greatest compliment I can pay him is I'm really sad he's not driving for us still."

Luckily, Michael Schumacher - who just happened to win a record seven world titles with Brawn - and his Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg weren't around to weigh the implications of that remark.

It was left to Martin Whitmarsh, Button's chief at McLaren for the last two seasons, to fill in the gaps in the Englishman's career.

"Grand prix wins 10, pole positions seven, podiums 35, fastest laps four, number of points 650..." Whitmarsh began before Button tried to boost his statistics saying: "Why can't you make some of this up?"

Whitmarsh continued: "What [the list] doesn't say is; a great world champion and a fantastic ambassador to F1 - and the son of a smurf." The latter - and lesser-known fact - was a humorous reference to Dad John Button's nickname 'Papa Smurf'.

Finally, Button took centre stage, surveyed the room of F1 faces, friends, media and McLaren staff before choosing his words carefully.

"Wow! 200," he had begun. "Somebody actually asked me the other day what does 200 mean to you and first of all I thought they were talking about the number of PR days I've done this year.

"For a racing driver, the number normally doesn't mean so much but it makes you think back to the good times you've had - and the bad times.

"Winning the world championship was a big thing for me but winning grands prix and fighting it out with the best, I'm very lucky to be in that position.

"It's not over yet. I'm hoping for many, many more. Martin..?"
